Evaluation of coarse-grained CFD-DEM models with the validation of PEPT measurements
Here we looked at whether simplified particle simulations are still trustworthy when compared to real experiments. The lead author was H. Che. I mainly helped by designing the validation strategy and comparing CFD-DEM simulations directly against PEPT measurements, so we could clearly see where simplified models work and where they break down.

Granular dampers in microgravity: sharp transition between modes of operation
This paper studies how granular dampers behave in microgravity, such as in space applications. The first author was S. Achim. I helped analyse the particle dynamics and contributed to understanding why the damper suddenly switches between effective and ineffective modes.

Effect of distributor design on particle distribution in a binary fluidised bed
In this study, the first author was C. R. K. Windows-Yule. I helped investigate how the design of the gas distributor influences how different particles spread and segregate in a fluidised bed. The work shows that distributor geometry can strongly affect mixing quality.

Particle distributions in binary gas-fluidised beds: Shape matters, but not much
This paper asks a simple question: does particle shape really matter in fluidised beds? The first author was C. R. K. Windows-Yule. I helped analyse PEPT data and showed that while shape has an effect, it is often smaller than people expect.

Non-invasive and non-intrusive diagnostic techniques for gas-solid fluidised beds - A review
This is a broad review of measurement techniques for fluidised beds that do not disturb the system. The lead author was M. Errigo. I contributed expertise on PEPT and helped compare different diagnostic tools in terms of what they can realistically measure.

DEM2GATE: Combining discrete element method simulation with virtual positron emission particle tracking experiments
Here we created a framework where simulations are post-processed as if they were real PEPT experiments. The first author was M. T. Herald. I helped design the idea of virtual measurements so simulations and experiments can be compared fairly.

Effect of system composition on mixing in binary fluidised beds
Here I studied how changing the mixture ratio in a fluidised bed affects mixing and segregation. I led the experimental design and analysis, using PEPT to show that even small composition changes can strongly alter bed behaviour.

Investigating the impact of impeller geometry for a stirred mill using the discrete element method
This paper looks at how impeller design influences particle motion in stirred mills. The first author was T. Osborne. I helped with DEM modelling and interpreting how pin number and thickness affect energy transfer.

Influence of nozzle design on flow, mixing, and fluidisation in a bubbling bed fluidised by a single nozzle
In this paper I examined how nozzle geometry controls bubbling, mixing, and overall flow in a fluidised bed. I combined experiments and analysis to show that nozzle design alone can fundamentally change bed behaviour.

Use of positron emission particle tracking to assess mixing of a graphite-based lithium-ion anode slurry in an Eirich mixer
This work applies PEPT to battery slurry mixing in an industrial mixer. The first author was S. D. Hare. I helped with PEPT measurements and interpretation to understand how well the slurry is mixed.

Mapping Jet Coalescence in Fluidized Beds using Positron Emission Particle Tracking
Here I directly measured how gas jets merge and interact inside fluidised beds using PEPT. This allowed me to map jet coalescence in a way that was not possible with conventional measurements.
